Blood Moon with the Meade 90 ETX

This is one of my earlier attempts at astrophotography using my Meade 90 ETX. I caught it just before dawn as the Moon was setting and I’m still trying to juggle light balance and focus. The color came in nicely, though, especially once the clouds started to obscure the Moon. You can clearly see the crater Aristarchus glowing white near the bottom. It is astronomical sights like these which inspired me to write my latest novel series AlCent Sagas. Book One: Formation was just released this week!
