Here are some more attempts to photograph the Moon using my Meade 90 ETX and my cellphone using an adapter. Not the best images but still fun to do. Notice that unlike in the Blood Moon photos, Aristarchus is now at the top of the photos as opposed to the bottom. (Aristarchus is the lone white crater in the middle of the dark mare area known as the Oceanus Procellarum.) That’s because these pix were taken as the Moon was rising and the Blood Moon pix were taken right before the Moon had set. Not sure how far I can go with astrophotography unless I get better equipment, but for now I am content to study the minute details of the lunar surface and use a chart to name the features. Staggering beauty through the eyepiece!
