Back from the UltraCon in West Palm Beach!

Hello, everyone, and a warm welcome to all my new subscribers! I had the happy privilege of meeting many of you at the UltraCon this past weekend. Welcome aboard!

This was my first time at the UltraCon and it was one of the best cons I’ve been to yet! I was dazzled! I saw so many cool cosplay outfits and met many very interesting people, AND I got to talk about my novels! I sold many books, including complete sets of the AlCent Sagas series, and many folks took advantage of my free Kindle download of Book One – Formation. Now let’s get into the photos!

Here was my set up. I’m going to need a bigger table if I keep writing at this pace!
Ghostbusters was a big theme here!
I even got to meet the whole team! No ghosts to worry about with these guys around!
The place was huge! You could find anything here!
These were taken while standing up on my chair. It was the only way to capture as much as possible.
I was lucky to get a corner spot. Good visibility from afar!
The US Navy even had a table! Good hunting too. As an old Gunner’s Mate myself, I naturally connected with them. My navy time and my love of astronomy are big inspirations to my novels! I was bummed I forgot my old ship’s ballcap.
Star Wars was another big theme, of course. I didn’t see R2 this time (a big fan from recent cons), but I think I saw just about everyone else!

I even got to meet the big guy himself!

The cosplay really was outstanding.
Some people really paid a price for accuracy. The black kept running into his eyes, but he turned heads wherever he went.
Her eyes really added to the costume, but she said she could only see me because of my shiny spacesuit!
Young and old were getting into the act!
I found a shirt I want for Christmas!
We had a great time, but found this was happening on the way home! Now I’m wiped out from hurricane preps on the house. Keep your fingers crossed for us! We had to rush home from the GA Pop and Horror Con for a storm in August, but at least this time we could stay for the entire weekend. (This happened to be the same weekend Hurricane Hugo hit us in 1989. Ironic, no?) No face in the clouds as of yet.

Well, that was my awesome weekend at UltraCon in West Palm Beach. I encourage anyone to come out to the next one, or any other con in your area. It’s a blast of a weekend for all of us creative nerdy types!
