Back from the GA Pop and Horror Con!

Hello everyone! Well, I’m back from the GA Pop and Horror Con and it was a blast! Columbus, Ga was surprisingly beautiful and we met a lot of cool people and I sold a lot of books. You might not think that a science fiction writer would find his place at a horror convention, but I found that a large percentage of horror fans are sci-fi fans too! We had a great time and many people took me up on my offer of a free Kindle download over the weekend. I told them, “Try before you buy!” and I suspect I’ll have many new fans of my work because of it. And since the air conditioning was working, I wore my customary space suit! (Can’t miss me!) We even shot a couple of funny videos that I will be sharing very soon.

Book 5 in print didn’t make it, but I had everything else. Once it gets to me I will be offering the AlCent Sagas as a complete set with a conference special price! Be watching for it!

The venue was a really cool place. They called it the Ironworks and apparently the Confederacy used to build their ironclad warships here. Some of it (especially the vintage equipment) reminded me of the old paper mill, but beautified into an awesome setting for conventions, etc. Sad to say we had to leave after the second day due to an impending sideswipe of our home by Tropical Storm Debby. We prepped the house and all was safe. (The roads ended up being closed due to flooding so we made the right call.)

R2-D2 was there as well! I’m starting to believe he is becoming a groupie for me. He was asking if I had copies of Book 5 yet and I was sorry to disappoint him. Give me your address R2 and I’ll send you one as soon as I have them!

I saw a lot of cool cosplay there as well. You know, there are so many really creative people out there to meet!

Even Chucky turned out to terrorize the crowd! He rode around and tried to nick people’s calves as he sped by. Always a surprise with that one!

Yes, it was a blast at this year’s GA Pop and Horror Con! If you haven’t been to one, I invite you to come out for a great weekend. Let me know you saw this at the next con and I’ll give you a free poster of my cover art! Until then! – James
